Quantum Advantage in Simulating Stochastic Processes

چکیده
We investigate the problem of simulating classical stochastic processes through quantum dynamics, and present three scenarios where memory or time advantages arise. First, by introducing analysing a version embeddability for matrices, we show that memoryless dynamics can simulate necessarily require memory. Second, extending notion space-time cost process $P$ to domain, prove an advantage over cost. Third, demonstrate set states accessible via Markovian master equations with controls is larger than those controls, leading, e.g., potential in cooling protocols.

Quantum Recurrent Networks for Simulating Stochastic Processes
We introduce the concept of quantum recurrent networks by incorporating classical feedback loops into conventional quantum networks. We show that the dynamical evolution of such networks, which interleave quantum evolution with measurement and reset operations, exhibit novel dynamical properties finding application in pattern recognition, optimization and simulation. Moreover, decoherence in qu...
متن کاملSimulating non-Markovian stochastic processes.
We present a simple and general framework to simulate statistically correct realizations of a system of non-Markovian discrete stochastic processes. We give the exact analytical solution and a practical and efficient algorithm like the Gillespie algorithm for Markovian processes, with the difference being that now the occurrence rates of the events depend on the time elapsed since the event las...
متن کاملSimulating stochastic processes with OMNeT++
Modeling of correlated traffic processes is a challenge in simulation modeling but is necessary to obtain realistic simulation models of many computer or communication networks. We present a new simple module denoted as ArrivalProcess to be included as a traffic source in OMNeT++ simulation models. The new traffic source supports different stochastic process models which are defined using a XML...
متن کاملExtreme Quantum Advantage when Simulating Strongly Coupled Classical Systems
Classical stochastic processes can be generated by quantum simulators instead of the more standard classical ones, such as hidden Markov models. One reason for using quantum simulators is that they generally require less memory than their classical counterparts. Here, we examine this quantum advantage for strongly coupled spin systems—the Dyson-like one-dimensional Ising spin chain with variabl...
متن کاملSimulating Stochastic Diffusions by Quantum Walks
Stochastic differential equation (SDE) and Fokker-Planck equation (FPE) are two general approaches to describe the stochastic drift-diffusion processes. Solving SDEs relies on the Monte Carlo samplings of individual system trajectory, whereas FPEs describe the time evolution of overall distributions via path integral alike methods. The large state space and required small step size are the majo...
